Meijin tournament is one of the more prestigious title tournaments. It has great history and traditions. Meijin title was founded in 16th centure. New history of Meijin title started in 1935. Only professional players can participate in Meijin tournament.

It is necessary to win 4 title games to get Meijin title. Every title game plays during two days. Time limit is 9 hours for every players.
